Red Kitchen Tiles:

The client inquired about a transparent red tile and provided me with a Plascon colour swatch as reference.

I quoted per tile, and could not quote per project brief, with the actual measurements outstanding.

Be so kind to estimate yourself with the help of the attached quote. If anyof these options suit you then forward the exact parameters of the project and I shall process a final quote.

Die afmetings is ongeveer 600mm x 5 000mm. Daar is geen spesifieke deadline nie, ek is eerder opsoek na die regte teël.

Gerrit: 

Aangeheg is n paar kleur voorbeelde van vorige bestellings.

Jou kleur is heelwat rooier. Ek sal die kleur moet saamstel, en dit sal jou R250incl. kos vir voorbeelde, maar uitsluitende die koerier koste om die voorbeelde by jou te kry.

Die koste sluit die ontwerp van n kleur met so ongeveer 3 -5 tonale variasies in. 

Dit klink asof jy belangstel in ons "moulded range" wat volgens jou afmetings ongeveer R8250incl sal kos vir 15 - 20 werksdae aflewering. 

Laat weet of ons n formele kwotasie moet aanstuur, re. net vir voorbeelde of vir totale projek waar dit die koste van kleur ontwikkeling insluit.

Thank you for your revised quote. I accept your quote of 3 August 2008 and will make the payment today. 

I think the following should be noted which is not contained in the quote but was discussed or described previously:

• The go-ahead of the order is dependent on the approval of the samples. If the samples are not to our satisfaction you will remake them at no extra cost. 
• With the square tiles you will make 3 samples - one the 'terracotta' colour itself, one ever so slightly lighter and one ever so slightly darker. 
• The 'terracotta' tile will have a transparent glaze with some cracking in the glaze. 
• By 'terracotta' we mean the Plascon colour described as 'terracotta' 
• The 'white' of the white bullnose tile must match the colour of a standard white 150 x 150 'Johnson's white glazed ceramic tile.

I thank you for the payment. 

The notes mentioned will be the parameters of the brief. These parameters will be met as close as a handcrafted products allow.

We are quite good at this and will match or come close. 

I shall be involved with the colour development and Gillian with the prototype development. Gillian will be in Jhb next week and will commence with the prototypes the week after. I shall first adapt the clay body to actively enhance the crackling and at the same time start with colour development.

Sal dit moontlike wees om 'n gat van 20mm in die middel van 3 van die teëls te maak? Ek wil graag 'n stainless steel reling insit. Ek dui die posisie van die gate met 'n groen kol op die aangehegte tekening aan.

Gerrit:

• Ek dink Tylon WIT mosaic gom of Tylon Wall & All White WB11 sal die beste wees vir die porieuse teels, altwee is wit en WB11 is geformuleer om nie teels te stain. 
• Re. grout: As julle  donker kleure wil gebruik toets dit net op die agterkant van n ekstra teel, net om te sien dat die pigment nie die klei onder die glasuur kleur nie. Sit maar Tylon BONDit by en moenie CTM of ander obskure "brands" gebruik nie.
• Die teels kan met tyd nog verder krakies form. As jy wil kan jy n seelaar soos Invisable Sealer , http://www-za.tilecare.co.za/diy_all.htm , van  ook oor die teels vryf,

Ek neem aan dat jy wil fotos neem vir advertensie doeleindes. Ek is seker dat jy sal verstaan dat ek nie gretig is dat net sommer enige fotos rondgaan oor ons huis nie, omdat dit my reputasie ook daarby betrek.

Ek gee nie om dat jy fotos van die werk het nie want ek dink dat jy 'n uitstekende job gedoen het.

Daar is twee aspekte wat jy moet oorweeg. Eerstens, dat ons nog nie die vlekvryestaal reling aan die bokant van die teëls ingesit het nie (kom oor so 2 maande) en dat ek dink die geheel sal beter lyk daarmeë. Tweedens sal ek verkies om die fotos self te neem en dan vir jou te stuur. Ek dink my fotos sal goed genoeg wees. Jy is welkom om vir my in detail te beskryf wat jy wil sien.
