Enquiry: My husband and I are renovating a cottage in Hermanus and would like to use your tiles for the space behind the stove (it isn't a backsplash is it?).
We live in Johannesburg and cannot visit you; the house is in the process of being done. How do we go about it?

Gerrit: If you forward the address, and if need be a contact number for the contractor working on site, I could visit the cottage take a photo and measurements and then make some suggestions.

Jeanne: The kitchen has not been constructed yet, the windows have just gone in. The address is 5 Milner street, corner Flat street, Kwaaiwater. The builder is Gideon Malherbe 082 555-4244.

Jeanne: The granite quotes, shower door quotes etc. came in together with yours last week and my husband had to wait for the weekend to check on the forever empty house account and he had to prioritize for immediate needs which are the granite, shower doors and curtains. The whole family loves the ‘up to the cupboard’ design and will take it as soon as we can scrounge more money. How much could we save if there are more plain tiles, not that I really want that?

Gerrit: I quickly viewed your lay-outs again – and you know it is perfect and a saving of 10 to 15% will not do merit to the final panel. Rather wait; we have to wait for the granite installation anyway, so that we can take the final measurements. Have you decided to install the extractor before or after the tiles?

Gerrit: It is not that critical, but it will make the installation easier for the Tiler if done first. Send the extractor specs anyway – I would like to view the recommended height above the stove for your model. If the tiles are installed before, then one can adjust the installation height of the extractor to fit full tiles instead of us adjusting the size of the tiles directly underneath the extractor when the extractor is installed in advance. Either way, we shall provide the best solution.
